Bermondsey Street Bees are delighted to be opening our first retail outlet this Saturday 15th October at Hiver Beers Arch in Maltby Street.
Our range of curated raw artisan honeys from town and country will be available from 10am until 4pm at Arch 56, Stanworth Street SE1 3NY. With our friends at Hiver Beers. I never tire of telling people how proud I am that our honey has gone into Hiver Beer since its first brew!
A big thanks to our long-standing collaborator and food heroine, Hannah Rhodes, founder of Hiver Beers, for allowing us the space to get in front of our local customers. Our honey has been in Hiver Beer since the first brew and Hannah has demonstrated her handiness with a gardening fork at our Bermondsey Street Bees Planting Days in Leathermarket Gardens!
And there’s one other cause for celebration, resonant for me and my family. During WWII, my mother’s family business, Buckfield and Son, ran its road haulage business from a Druid Street Arch. And Druid Street is just at the at the other end of the Hiver arch. This is the same patch!
It’s Urban, It’s SE1derful…It’s Bermondsey Street Honey
We’re back, SE1. A walk down Memory Lane to “Underneath The Arches“…
